the Beattie Reunion

We went to a Family Reunion on Saturday. The Beattie side. That was John's Grandma's maiden name. Grandma, and her sister from Arizona are the only siblings still living but a sister in law and a brother in law were there too. They are all octogarians and The oldest is 88. Grandma just turned 85.
It was a fun gathering at the homestead. Grandma grew up there and her Grandfather homesteaded there. The 4th generation is currently living on the place and it was neat to see the old pictures and get reacquainted with family that we don't see very often.
Cole was particularly impressed with his cousin Aaron. Aaron actually married into the clan but he played for the Huskers in the glory days and had worn his Championship ring from 1994. Cole tried to get a picture of it but it was way blurry, Aaron even took it off so he could look at it....Cole put it on his finger. John's Aunt Judy got a good picture and said she would get a copy for Cole. Cool stuff for a Husker fanatic.
Anyway, we had a fun day. We left here at 6ish and drove 5 hours then got home at 9ish the same day....but well worth the time, energy and caffeine binging to get it done.
