Ruby Report

Ruby and her little calf are doing just fine. He was a little slow yesterday to recover from his traumatic day. John had to tube feed him because he was so lethargic. He was a big one for such a small mama. He weighed about 90 pounds. But today he was a whole new calf.

Ruby was ready to show him off.

Come on son....get up and show the lady how tall you are.

That's it...get your balance then bring your front feet up.

There you go....steady now......good boy.

Now look at the lady so she can take your picture.

Everyone loves it when one of the milk cows freshen. The barnyard animals are so happy and fat. They drink their fill of fresh creamy milk and turn up their noses at Old Roy dog food.

Spotty has milk whiskers and is so full that she doesn't even lick it off. Life is good when there is a milk cow in the barn.

This would make a great children's book!!!! When you are in Lincoln, stop in at University of NE Press (right downtown) and talk to them.....we need nebr. books, and this would be great!! Your pictures are excellent.....If they are not interested, let me know, as there are specialty publishing companies that would love it!!! You can set another good example for your family (namely your mother)!!! Love, Mom
