Ring is Cole's dog. Everyone knows this....except maybe Ring. He will drop you like a hot potato if the guy in the cowboy hat is around or might be coming around and might need some ranch security or just a buddy.
But on this day.....John was gone and had left the dogs home. They always get a little melancholy when they are left behind. Cole is sensitive to that. He was left behind as well. Which doesn't bother him all that much but he gets tired of doing all the housework slave jobs that I assign him. So.....he announces that he thinks Ring is sad and bored and needs a 4-wheeler ride. Ring had several opportunities to jump out so I guess we can assume that he was actually needing a 4 wheeler ride....or that his arthritis was especially bad that day. Ole' Ringer is 10 years old. He actually had a good time I think and Cole has taken him on several rides since then. It is pretty common to see him riding on the back of the wheelie but in the wagon.....that is a new trick.
Rex was not having anything to do with it. Cole tried to coax him in, boss him in and lift him in. Rex became dead weight and flattened himself on the ground and successfully avoided the wagon ride.
Rex. Why didn't you go with Cole and Ring? It looked like fun! By the way....you don't eat the dog food....how do you stay so healthy and why is your hair coat so rich and glossy? What's that? You are a good hunter? What do you hunt? Eggs! Why you little rascal....you are a egg-sucking dog just like Old Yeller! Bad bad doggy! Go chase a cat.
