Early Easter

Easter is not far away but the chickens seem to be in the mood now.

This egg was just sitting in the yard one day.

Our chickens are not really coop broke. They roam where ever they want to and sometimes lay eggs in the coop but more often than not they are....elsewhere. It is a year round Easter egg hunt here.

We have had our chickens for about 5 years now. We have learned a lot of things in that time and had some unexpected things happen. This is not the first time one of the hens decided to lay her egg in the yard and it probably won't be the last...unless we decide to fence them in.
