I am a little late on this post. Mother's Day was almost a week ago....but I didn't have a chance to post anything then.
I always think of Cole's birth mom on Mother's Day. We always refer to her as his First Mom. Because she was. I am so thankful that I got to be Cole's Mom too. Most of the time I don't even think about it. He is just my boy. I have even had moments where I have been in a group of ladies that are recalling pregnancy memories or maladies and I catch myself thinking "Man I just don't remember anything like that..." Then I remember that I was never pregnant. :)
That is how little I think about being Cole's second Mom.
But on Mother's Day I always think about his first Mom.....and I am thankful.
This year my gift to my Mom was to haul her to a rodeo 5 hours away so she could watch my brother's kids rodeo. We left at 4am. It is still dark out then. In case you wondered.
It was a nice day for a road trip. We got to the rodeo with time to spare before Sam and Sidney competed. We watched Sid goat tie,
run poles
She is a little too fast for me (below) I had a lot of empty frames....note to John....I want one of them thar cameras that have a big ole lens and the ability to take 3000 frames a second. I could be a good photographer then.....I am sure of it.
I snapped this picture of these little girls...
...what do you think their mama is getting for Mother's Day? :)
Mom and I got home about 10pm that night....yes it was a one day road trip marathon. I am still recovering.
The next day, which was actually Mother's Day, Cole took me out for lunch at Donalds. I was told I could order anything I wanted and he whipped out his checkbook to foot the bill. Pretty nice.
I love being Cole's Mom. He is a fine boy.
